Treasures With Mimi

Much to my chagrin I had to work for a few hours today (feeling sorry for myself because I'm getting sick), but as usual one of our many grandparents was there to help. Paige and Liv spent some time with Mimi today.

Paige got her much needed "piggies" painted purple and made a very special treasure box with Mimi. A treasure box containing "2nies" (a Canadian $2 coin), a coaster, buttons, ribbons, plastic animals and a picture of Mimi, Papa, Liv and Paige. And as I was taking a picture of said treasure box for the blog I was explicitly informed by one Paige Howard of the following, "Mom, that is not your treasure box. It is MY treasure box from Mimi."

Mimi - thank you for always making your time with Paige filled with special memories for her.

Ladybug Girl

For Halloween Paige was supposed to be a lady bug. The costume lasted about all of 5 minutes. However, since one of her favorite books is "Ladybug Girl" I've been wanting to give the costume another chance. Low and behold, yesterday was THE day. I asked her if she wanted to wear her lady bug costume and she jumped at the chance. It's a little snugger than 8 months ago, but it still does the trick. She had it on for HOURS! We even went for a bike ride in it. LOOKING GOOD IN the NeighborHOOD!

A Real Band

Paige has been taking quite an interest in music lately. She has been playing the keyboard that her Auntie Joscelyn gave her and spending time playing a tune or two with her dad.

On Saturday we took Paige to a jazz concert at The Naples Beach Hotel. We told her we were going to see a "real band". She was so excited.
It is definitely an interest we want to foster seeing as though her daddy was a terrific trumpeter. It's so cute to see the two of them together.

I Think I May Have Created A Monster

And so I think I have officially created a monster of sorts, that is a Starbucks monster. Every so often mom makes a run to the Starbucks drive thru with both girls in tow. In an attempt to avoid the sugar overload, I go if Paige has fallen asleep in the car. Today was not one of those days.

After a sing along at the library and some outdoor fun with Noah and Gramps we were in need of a strawberry smoothie cool down. Off we went to the drive thru to place an order. An iced green tea latte for mom and a strawberry frappacino for Paige.

"Welcome to Starbucks".

"That's the Starbucks girl mommy."

I couldn't help but chuckle, "Yes, Paige you are right, it is the Starbucks girl".

"Mommy, the Starbucks girl is making me a strawberry smoothie...mmmm, D-elicious!".

Yes, I've created a monster, a little Starbucks monster, who loves her strawberry smoothies.

Playing At The Park

Somehow we always manage to end up at the park with no kids and weird adults lingering, but we had a good time despite it. Paige hunted for pine cones, watched the birds, played on the balance beam and spent time snacking. A good time indeed.

A Much Needed Day With Gramps

Last night I received a call from Gramps. I'd like to think of it as a reverse 911 call. Somehow he always knows when I need a break err.... I mean, when Paige needs a day with her Gramps.

And so our morning began with the typical drama and many "no's", but I was rescued shortly thereafter by the arrival of Gramps. Fully aware of who was at the door Paige went running to greet him and race out the door. I barely got a goodbye... and she was off.

Paige spent the WHOLE day with Noah and Gramps playing on Plasma cars, running through the sprinkler, watching "Horton Hears A Who" and eating popcorn. Upon her arrival home she was as happy as a clam and was given a gleaming report for her behavior and napping skills today.

The result of a day with Gramps:

Thanks for always being there Gramps! xo
