A Few Blogworthy Andecdotes

It's not always easy remembering the funny things that happen during the day lately.  Not that I'm looking for excuses, but it may have something to do with having a six week old and a busy two year old running around or maybe it's a semi-fried brain due to lack of sleep and lack of adult conversation. Whatever the reason, I have overcome my inability to remember blog worthy items (for today anyway).

After awaking from her nap, she sauntered into the pantry in search of her afternoon snack. The decision was made without hesitation once she spied what she was looking for, "I need a snack. I need apple sauce mommy". Much to her chagrin I gave her the apple sauce that was in the fridge rather than the snack pack version as it's more economical and lacks the excessive packaging which some day she will appreciate. Most of the apple sauce ended up on her today for some mysterious reason. After the "spill" we were in need of a bath and a wardrobe change - BIG surprise.

Once clean and ready to conquer the rest of the afternoon, Paige discovered that Liv was having a cat nap in her bed. Fortunately Paige was feeling lovey dovey and in lieu of a head but and body slam Liv was showered with soft kisses. Liv got the pleasure of being covered (not her head) with Paige's "soft blanket" and the best part of all... Paige looked lovingly at Liv and said, "I love you Liv. I want to pet her".

And here's another...

I realize it's important for kids to know the proper terminology for their body parts, but I struggle when Paige clearly identifies her nipples thanks to a little bath time lesson from daddy.

Picture this, I'm nursing Liv. Paige comes into the room and jumps up into the baby swing to hang out. She kicks back to relax, turns on the swing and its music. She lifts up her shirt and says, "Here are my nipples. It's my turn to feed Liv". Ummm.... how do you explain that one to a two year old??? Indeed, I tried. And it goes a little something like this, "Paige when you are all grown up, married and much older you can have a baby and you can feed  your baby then".

GULP! Aren't I smooth?! :)
